Providing Fathers with Hope and Support PDHC walks alongside fathers during pregnancy and beyond, providing in-person and online parenting classes through the Family Empowerment Center. Hundreds of classes are available, including classes designed specifically for dads, to encourage and empower healthy families. Dad-focused topics include; Taking Care During Pregnancy, During Birth, and Postpartum, Baby Care Basics for Dads, Being a Role Model, Being a Leader, Being Consistent, Providing Loving and Practical Discipline, and Respect for Mothers. So far this year, 204 new dads are participating in our parenting education program. They also receive much-needed baby essentials, including car seats, cribettes, diapers and wipes, clothing and so much more. There is also support through PDHC’s DEN (Dad’s Empowerment Network). Led by male staff and volunteers, DEN is a monthly group where fathers gather to learn, grow, and find strength in shared experiences. The program educates dads in 5 different areas of growth opportunities as fathers, including Moral, Physical, Intellectual, Emotional, and Social. |
Providing Hope and Healing to Men After Abortion When abortion is the outcome of a pregnancy, fathers are often deeply affected—whether they supported the decision, remained silent, or longed to parent but weren’t given a voice. At PDHC, we recognize that men, like women, need space to grieve and heal. That’s why we offer abortion recovery programs for men. The aftermath of abortion can lead to unprocessed emotions, strained relationships, and a sense of powerlessness. Our recovery programs provide tools and support to help men work through their pain and move forward. Healing helps restore hope—and empowers men to embrace their identity and responsibility as fathers, whether they’re parenting now or preparing for the future. If you know someone who could benefit from abortion recovery, call or text our CareLine at Fatherhood matters. At PDHC, we’re committed to honoring and empowering men at every stage of their journey—whether they’re facing a pregnancy decision, recovering from a past abortion, or learning to lead their family with confidence.
