Celebrating Life

If you are like me, you're eagerly anticipating the arrival of fall. Whether it's a weekend getaway, a warm cup of coffee on a crisp morning, or cheering on your favorite team, there is something special about this season.

At PDHC, fall also means coming together to celebrate life at our annual gala. We

are grateful to the many volunteers who partnered with our Development Team to prepare and send invitations. Your willingness to serve behind the scenes helps make this special event possible.

I sincerely hope you all will have the opportunity to attend. If this will be your first year, I promise that this is not an intimidating affair. I also promise it will be an evening filled with encouragement and a powerful reminder of the impact we make together. You will leave grateful that you came and even more excited about the stories of life and hope unfolding through this ministry.

As always, thank you for the countless ways you share your hearts. Your faithful service helps make it possible to celebrate life every day.

For Life,

Sheena

New In Lancaster!

Starting next week we will be holding a diaper-wrapping event. Future dates will be added as needed, but for now, there are still a couple spots available for you to sign-up (see link above). We hope you'll consider joining us for this opportunity to serve and help prepare resources for the Fairfield County families we support.

About Cathy:

My husband (Tom) and I just celebrated our 54th wedding anniversary on August 12. We have two adult children and three grandchildren. We attend Grace Polaris Church, where I received Christ in 1982. I have been part of Joy Bible study for 40 years. I love playing Mah Jongg and doing water aerobics.

Volunteer Experience:

I first heard about PDHC in 1985 through Linda Augspurger and our church.

As soon as our son (who is now 46) started kindergarten, I began volunteering. I started in a small one room office in German Village helping organize the “library” of books they had. I currently volunteer at the admin office where I fill supply orders for the client centers each Tuesday.

I have a “heart for the unborn” and absolutely love the ladies who share that passion with me each week. I have walked (along with my Bible study ladies) in several of the PDHC Walks for Life, hosted a table at the annual banquets and organized a diaper drive (from my friends) at Christmas.

My most memorable experience with PDHC was in 2008 when I went to the White House with several other PDHC volunteers to receive one of the President’s Volunteer Freedom Awards. It was humbling and joyful to gather with other like-minded pro-life men and women from all over the United States and affirm life.

Nearly every Tuesday when I volunteer at the admin office, we gather for prayer. It is how we equip ourselves for whatever tasks the day will bring. My heart is open to helping wherever I am needed. I love seeing the other volunteers sorting baby clothes, meeting with clients to hand out layettes, etc. Each person serving as God has gifted and equipped them. There is a place for everyone who wants to give their time to PDHC.

Thank you for faithfully serving with us!
