United for Life!

“United for Life” was this year’s theme for the 53rd annual Heartbeat International Conference held last week in Salt Lake City, Utah. PDHC is honored to be one of over 3,300 Heartbeat International-affiliated pregnancy help locations worldwide. Several members of our team, along with over 1,300 leaders from 46 states and 16 countries attended in person, and an additional 700 individuals attended virtually from around the world, making it the largest conference ever.

We were inspired by Philippians 2:2, “…then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being united in spirit and purpose.”  This important conference provides us the opportunity to be surrounded by like-minded leaders from all over the world, who share a wealth of experience, ideas, information, support, and resources, that we can then bring back to help further our ministries and the life-saving work of pregnancy help centers. It is a time for us to refresh, refocus, and regroup and we are incredibly thankful to Heartbeat International, which provides each of its affiliates with ongoing support, resources, and education to help us be the best we can be for the women and families we serve.

We heard stories of lives saved from all over the world and listened to inspirational speakers with life stories of their own. We shared in carrying the flags of each of our affiliates from all over the world in the Parade of Nations! We were blessed to hear David Bereit, founder of the global 40 Days for Life movement, and this year’s speaker for PDHC’s Columbus Gala. He encouraged us to have unwavering perseverance, to never give up, and to go forth united for life! “We don’t have the luxury of being lone rangers,” he said. We are filled with renewed hope that the work being done by pregnancy centers around the globe and in our backyards, is saving hundreds of thousands of lives from abortion!

We want to thank each of you for walking alongside us to Rescue Lives and Impact Generations, One Heartbeat at a Time.

We are United for Life!

Kathy Scanlon, PDHC President
